Instagram of the week this week goes to Amyspires, a photographer from the North East. I love the old, vintage feel of this feed. Using VSCOcam her photos look like they're taken on film. This has definitely inspired me on the project that I'm working on at the minute.
Humans of New York is a photography blog ran by Brandon Stanton, the idea behind the blog is to capture people that others wouldn't take a second glance at if they past in the street, but can take an interest in when put onto the blog. I first found out about this through Facebook when friends were liking and commenting on photos of interesting looking people, there has also been a spin off of the idea in the city that I'm from, Newcastle.
I love the concept behind this blog, its a very personal and interesting way to get to know something about someone that you would walk straight by. It seems crazy that there are so many interesting people out there with amazing stories to tell in a city, with it being based in New York I think there is a wider variety of people being documented too. The concept has also influenced me in a brief that I am working on at the moment, where a personal and accessible feel is very important.
This weeks IG of the week goes to Bludshot an amazing feed filled with sneakers, streetwear and street photography (what's not to love right). His photos are beautifully shot and well edited and so nice to look at. Looking through his feed I found a couple of photos I've been familiar with in the past! Definitely worth a follow.
Helped out a mate with a photoshoot today at Byker Culvert, a crazy tunnel that goes from the Ouseburn to Jesmond Vale in Newcastle. I've always wanted to some Urban Exploration and its crazy to think that places like this are there without a lot of people knowing about it. We set off flares for the photography and had a bit of a wander, the surroundings were great, weathered walls, graffiti and this reinforced space. Definitely need to go down again, maybe I should take wellies this time, a pair of Sneakerboots and jeans didnt quite cut it when going through the enterance.
Instagram of the week this week is 13th Witness. He posts beautiful landscape photos of urban environments that are well shot and edited even better. I definitely don't see myself as a photographer but this feed makes me want to take my instagram photos to the next level.
