Humans of New York is a photography blog ran by Brandon Stanton, the idea behind the blog is to capture people that others wouldn't take a second glance at if they past in the street, but can take an interest in when put onto the blog. I first found out about this through Facebook when friends were liking and commenting on photos of interesting looking people, there has also been a spin off of the idea in the city that I'm from, Newcastle.
I love the concept behind this blog, its a very personal and interesting way to get to know something about someone that you would walk straight by. It seems crazy that there are so many interesting people out there with amazing stories to tell in a city, with it being based in New York I think there is a wider variety of people being documented too. The concept has also influenced me in a brief that I am working on at the moment, where a personal and accessible feel is very important.
